Julia’s SD

$ 5.00

I have known Marc Ayers for about a decade.
He is the Illinois Director for The Humane Society of the U.S. and a lobbyist that has shut down puppy mills and is responsible for legislation that has taken puppy mill dogs out of pet stores
I was in Springfield Illinois win. I realized how sick Gander was that I suspected he had blastomycosis again.  The first person I called was Marc for recommendations about who I might take Kan or two that would be a reputable vet in the area.
Through the years, Marc has contacted me about Service Dog issues and I have tried to help him in this capacity as a board member for his county government. Yes, he’s a busy man.

Most recently he contacted me about a young lady with type one diabetes, Julia Chevalier, who has a much needed service dog.

Julia, who has been recognized by the county board for her bravery, perseverance, and Service Dog advocacy, began encountering, bullying and harassment at her school.

Bullies took great joy in kicking the legs out from under her beautiful service dog during period breaks at her school.
Calls to the school board, the principal and others yielded no help.
The assaults on her dog, Nikon, caused so much damage the he now needs orthopedic surgery.
Nikon has been going to the University of Illinois veterinary clinic and hospital. That is where G was last treated before he passed.

U of I is quite a distance from Springfield and the whole situation has created financial hardships for Julia’s mom, a single mother.
A law firm has volunteered there time to force the school to take action, but as you will know, that takes time and Nikon needs help now.

Five dollar Friday will be dedicated to Julia.
